Community Colleges Initiative for International Development (CCID USA)

The mission of CCID is to provide opportunities for building global relationships that strengthen educational programs, and promote economic development. This means that their activities and programs are broad, deep and focused on global education issues as they relate primarily to two year colleges.In Pakistan, CCID chooses its students through United States Educational Foundation. Study for a PhD. in the United States

This program will fund up to four years of graduate study in the United States towards a Ph.D. degree. This may be coursework and/or research towards a Ph.D. or an entire program. Successful candidates will begin their program of study in the fall of 2007. Dorothy Hodgkins Scholarships

The Dorothy Hodgkin Postgraduate Awards are open to top quality science, engineering, medicine, social sciences and technology students from overseas to study for PhDs over a period of three to four years, at an average annual cost per student of £25,000 (up to an overall maximum of £75,000 per student) primarily to cover fees and maintenance. The verriding criterion of the scheme is excellence, and DHPA scholars should be easily recognisable as the 'best of the best'. Approximately 130 students will be offered awards from October 2004. One Research Council and one industrial partner will jointly fund each scholarship. Full details of the scheme are

KDFID Shared Scholarships Scheme

This scheme is a joint initiative between the UK Department for International Development (DFID) and various UK universities, to jointly support scholarships for students from developing Commonwealth countries, who would not otherwise be able to study in the United Kingdom.
Awards are primarily for taught postgraduate courses. Support for undergraduate work is only available in exceptional circumstances, for example where the course is not available in the candidate's own country or at a nearby regional institution. There is no formal list of eligible subjects, however all courses undertaken must be demonstrably relevant to the economic, social or technological development of the candidate's home country.

The British Council's health department has been offering assistance to overseas doctors in postgraduate medical education and training in the UK for many years. The British Council provides information on postgraduate medical education and training through the National Advice Centre for Postgraduate Medical Education (NACPME). This Society focuses on the theory and applications of radio-frequency (HF, VHF/UHF, microwave, millimeter-wave and terahertz), guided-wave and wireless technologies, as they relate to nanostructures, devices, integrated circuits, multi-circuit assemblies, components, packages, transmission lines, sub-systems, and systems involving the generation, amplification, processing, modulation, control, transmission, reception, detection and demodulation, and effects of electromagnetic energy transport. It also includes the interaction & interface of microwave signals with digital & optical circuitry & interconnecting transmission media. Examples include optical waves in suitably confined structures, as well as the applications of acoustic, magnetic, & plasmonic waves to microwave systems: Member students get scholarships in various fields. http://www.mtt.org/
