Making History: Hav.Lalak Jan was born in Hundur,a a beautiful village of YasinValley in North Part ofPakistan.He belonged to the Ismaili Communiy As most of the people in Yasen Valley come of that Ismili Interpretation of Islam. Historyhas witnessed that most of the people of Yasen Valley have sacrificed their blood for the sake of the country they belong. Though all their services would be imortal in the History of the region,yet Lalak Jan is a shining star among those.

Hav.Lalak Jan was a brave soldier of Northern Light Infantry, he inflicted heavy casualties to the enemy during the Kargil Conflict and repulsed many Indian attacks on his post.

In May 1999 when it was informed that the enemy is preparing for a big attack Hav.Lalak Jan was performing his duties at the Coy Head Quarters wanted to perform on the forward positions to fight with the enemy.He was sent to the post which the enemy feared from it and was of a constant threat to the enemy.

On the night of last week of June 1999 Indian Army attacked Hav.Lalak Jan's post with a force of one Battalion, during the attack Hav.Lalak Jan retaliated and fired on the enemy from different positions, he crawled to the every bunker of the post and boosted the morale of his Jawans. The fight continued for the whole night Lalak Jan and his soldiers spoiledevery efforts of the enemy and by morning the Indian Army was retreated leaving back lots of dead bodies. The next night after receiving a fresh reinforcement the enemy again attacked the post from different sides but still this time Lalak Jan and his soldiers again repulsed the enemy attack and inflicted heavy casualties to the enemy.

On 7th July 1999, Indian Army attacked Lalak Jan's post with Artillery fire .Shells exploded the whole day andagain in the night Indian Army attacked Lalak Jan's post from three sides. during this attack Hav. Lalak Jan was hit by the enemy machine gun fire on his chest, but still

he did not die soon, he defended hisLalak Jan post for another three hours, he did not vacate his post on the request of his company commander and continued to fight,most of his men had attained Shahadat.By time Pak Army reinforcement reached the post and the enemy attack was repulsed. Hav.Lalak Jan defended his post till the last time and embraced Shahadat on his post. Hav.Lalak Jan repulsed seventeen Indian attacks on his post in three days. The post on which Lalak Jan embraced Shahadat is still a part of Pakistan. Lalak Jan was married; he had two daughters and one son Education completed up to Matriculation Lalak Jan was born in Hundor during one of the worst blizzards of the village's history. He was hence nicknamed 'Dohat' (i.e. 'The Blizzard') Lalak Jan was the founding member of the Al Madad Welfare society in Hundor, which was primarily supposed to look after the progress of his village
